Iran supports Qatar gov’t, people: Commander

IRNA – The Islamic Republic of Iran is supportive of Qatar’s government and people, head of visiting Iranian delegation said on Tuesday.

‘Ground is ready for development of cooperation with Qatar and we are doing our best to have stronger relations with Doha,’ Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ (IRGC) Navy Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The commander called for collective cooperation among the littoral states of Persian Gulf to uphold security in the region.

An Iranian delegation, including members of the armed forces, arrived in the Qatari capital on Tuesday to attend the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC).

The Iranian delegation visited the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) in which 180 participants from 30 world countries are present.

The sixth round of the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC) was held on March 13.
