Tasnim Secretary of Irans Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani deplored recent remarks made by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman against the Islamic Republic as a mistake rooted in (his) lack of wisdom.
Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Monday, Shamkhani slammed bin Salman for calling Iran and Turkey evil states and said the Saudis, themselves, have created bloody borders and spread Takfiri (extremist) groups in Muslim countries.
Bin Salman has attributed the evil nature of Israel to countries that have helped to restore peace and stability to the region, he said.
This (Saudi crown princes comment) is a mistake rooted in (his) lack of wisdom , the Iranian security official stated.
Speaking to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Shorouk during a recent visit to Cairo, Bin Salman described Turkey as part of a triangle of evil along with Iran and extremist groups.
The Saudi prince also accused Turkey of trying to reinstate the Islamic caliphate, abolished nearly a century ago when the Ottoman Empire collapsed.
