Tasnim � Secretary of Iran�s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani deplored recent remarks made by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman against the Islamic Republic as �a mistake rooted in (his) lack of wisdom�.

Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Monday, Shamkhani slammed bin Salman for calling Iran and Turkey �evil� states and said the Saudis, themselves, have created �bloody borders� and spread Takfiri (extremist) groups in Muslim countries.

Bin Salman has attributed the �evil� nature of Israel to countries that have helped to restore peace and stability to the region, he said.

�This (Saudi crown prince�s comment) is a mistake rooted in (his) lack of wisdom�,� the Iranian security official stated.

Speaking to the Egyptian newspaper �Al-Shorouk� during a recent visit to Cairo, Bin Salman described Turkey as part of a �triangle of evil� along with Iran and extremist groups.

The Saudi prince also accused Turkey of trying to reinstate the Islamic caliphate, abolished nearly a century ago when the Ottoman Empire collapsed.
