Iran gas recovery from South Pars to increase 56 mcm/d: CEO

SHANA - The managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) said Iran's rich sour gas recovery from the supergiant South Pars Gas Field will increase by 56 million cubic meters per day next calendar year (which begins on March 21).

During a visit to onshore refinery faculties of South Pars in Persian Gulf, Mohammad Meshkinfam said Iran produced an average of 550 million cubic meters of natural gas from the joint gas field during this winter, adding by late March, gas recovery from Platform A of Phase 14 of the gas field will reach 14.2 mcm/d.

He further said that Platform C of the phase will come online in a matter of three months after inauguration of the first platform.

Platforms of phases 13, 22, 23 and 24 of the field, each with 14.2 million cubic meters of gas will come online next calendar year, he added.

Total Poised to Name SP11 Subcontractors

The managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company also announced completion of the first phase of the tenders for the development of phase 11 of the South Pars and selection of the subcontractors of the project.

"Soon, the outcome of these tenders will be announced by the Total to the client and the final preparations for implementation of the project will be carried out," he added.

He noted that implementation of the contract is being carried out in accordance with the plan and without any interruptions, and added that Total is currently reviewing the tender packages submitted by the bidders.
