Iran’s 1st VP, Iraqi President discuss issues of mutual interest

IRNA – Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri met with Iraqi President Fuad Masum in Baghdad on Thursday when the two discussed issues of mutual interest.

Jahangiri is on a 3-day official visit to Iraq at the head of a high-ranking delegation comprising political and economic officials.

Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari, Minister of Agriculture Mahmoud Hojjati, Governor of Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif, and some other top Iranian officials are accompanying the first vice-president.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif accompanied Jahangiri on the first day of his visit.

Jahangiri’s meetings in Iraq focus on the latest regional and international developments, as well as ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Visiting the holy shrines in Karbala, Najaf and Kadhimiya are also on Jahangiri’s agenda.
