President highlights key positions held by women in Iran

IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani says women’s active presence in all political, social and educational fields is a golden page in the history of the Islamic Revolution and this belies allegations leveled against Iran by the so-called human rights advocates.

Addressing a meeting of High Council on Cultural Revolution, he congratulated the Mother’s Day which coincides with the auspicious birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) beloved daughter Hazrat Fatemeh (AS), saying that She has been and will always be the great role model for women across the world.

Presence of three women in the Cabinet’s lineup and holding of high positions such as deputy ministers by seven women reveals the special attention paid by his ‘Government of Prudence and Hope’ to women’s rights and capabilities, the President said.

“The Iranian nation’s love for Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) Infallible Household and following them are our biggest assets in the Islamic Revolution,” he said.

Hailing the role of mothers in educating society and promoting culture as irreplaceable, he said that mothers and women have played a big part in upholding the country’s independence and in the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
