Iran FM, Turkish MP discuss bilateral ties

IRNA Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the head of Turkish parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee Volkan Bozkir discussed the ways of enhancing bilateral relations.

In the meeting held on Monday, the two sides emphasized the importance of boosting relations in every field, particularly in parliamentary ties.

The Turkish official expressed gratitude at Iran's principal stance on the 2016 attempted coup d'etat.

The Islamic Republic of Iran was among the first countries that condemned the coup d'etat.

The two sides also exchanged views on bilateral, and regional issues, particularly on Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and supporting the talks on Syria which has been held in Kazakhstan's Astana, fighting terrorism, Palestine and Quds.
