Foreign Ministry rejects propaganda against Zarif’s Croatia visit

IRNA – Despite the 'clumsy and childish' propaganda in certain social media claiming that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was not officially welcomed in his visit to Croatia, he was received warmly in Zagreb, an informed source in the ministry said.

n spite of the cold weather in Zagreb, Iranian Foreign Minister was warmly welcomed by deputy foreign minister of Croatia, Croatian envoy to Tehran and protocol officers of the Croatian Foreign Ministry, the source said.

Heading a high-profile politico-economic delegation, Zarif started his visit to Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on February 26.

During his tour to Croatia, Zarif held meetings with his counterpart and other senior political and economic officials in Zagreb including President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, and Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Martina Dalic.

The most important regional and international issues, Iran nuclear deal, fighting against violence, terrorism and extremism, Syrian and Yemeni crises and current situation in Afghanistan and Balkans were the main topics discussed in Zarif's four-nation tour.
