IRNA – Iran’s Judiciary spokesman Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei on Wednesday compared the crimes perpetrated by some protesters in Tehran on Monday night to those perpetrated by Daesh.
Mohseni Ejei made the remarks in reaction to a street protest in a northern district of Tehran on Monday night in which five security forces were killed.
The Iranian people cannot forgive these crimes and the judiciary has to strongly investigate the case, Mohseni Ejei said.
Anyone who is found guilty will stand trial, the official added.
In addition to the five security forces, who were killed in separate car-ramming attacks and stabbing on Monday night, 30 others were injured in the protest initially ignited by a group of Dervishes.
The protest was subdued by the security forces after a few hours and the main instigators were arrested.
