IRNA – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami, currently visiting Baku, Azerbaijan, conferred with President Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday.
The meeting included talks on defensive, military and also regional issues.
‘There are considerable capacities for Tehran-Baku defense and military cooperation,’ General Hatami told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) upon arrival in this Azeri capital.
Hatami, who is in Baku at the invitation of his Azeri counterpart Zakir Hasanov, said the two neighboring nations are determined to develop defense relations.
During the two-day stay of General Hatami and his military delegation in Baku, regional and bilateral questions will be reviewed.
About Iran-Azerbaijan ties, General Hatami said the two enjoy long-lasting relations, and his visit to Baku is taking place with the purpose of strengthening bilateral cooperation and regional security and stability.
He also expressed hope that his travel to Azerbaijan would lead to signing good agreements and finalizing the previous deals.
