Bodies of 45 plane crash victims found

IRNA Based on the latest reports released from the site of Tehran-Yasouj plane crash, bodies of 45 victims have been recovered and efforts are underway to find other bodies.

Announcing the above late Tuesday, Governor General of Kohkilouyeh-Buyerahmad province Ali Mohammad Ahmadi said that weather conditions in the region was better Tuesday morning.

He further noted that given severe weather conditions and difficulties faced by the rescuers to access the area, it was not possible to undertake heliborne operations and rescue forces could get there via land only.

On Tuesday afternoon, the forces found wreckage of the crashed plane and immediately afterwards , other specialized forces were dispatched to the site, Ahmadi said.

Darkness and harsh weather conditions have made continuation of the operations difficult, he said, noting that however, rescuers are deployed near the wreckage of the plane, which was found after search operations lasting 48 hours.

An ATR passenger plane belonging to Aseman Airline crashed close to Semirom, south of Isfahan province, on Sunday when it was flying from Tehran to Yasouj.

All 59 passengers and 6 crew members of the plane lost their lives in the incident.
