POGC to launch new South Pars refinery trains by March

SHANA - Iran's Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) says two new refinery trains belonging to phases 13 and 22-24 of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field will come online by the end of the current Iranian year to late March.

Mohammad Meshkinfam, POGC managing director, told Shana that the two projects will start their pre-startup by the end of the calendar year.

The land section of the refineries has made 90% physical progress so far, he said.

He further added that construction of five South Pars platforms, including 2 platforms for phases 22 to 24, 2 platforms for phase 13 and one platform for the 14th phase of South Pars, has made 90 percent progress, adding: "Three South Pars platforms will be installed in the Persian Gulf by the end of this year."

South Pars Phase 13 is being developed by a consortium of PetroPayadar, MAPNA and Sadra companies for production of 56 million cubic meters per day of sour gas, 50 million cubic meters/day of sweet gas, 2,900 tons/day of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), 2,750 tons/day of ethane, 75,000 barrels/day of gas condensate and 400 tons/day of sulfur.

Furthermore, the development plan of phases 22 to 24 of South Pars is under way by Petrosina Arya and Sadra with the goal of producing 56.6 million cubic meters/day of sour gas, 75 thousand barrels/day of gas condensate, 400 tons/day of sulfur, 2,870 tons/day of LPG and 2,740 tons/day of ethane.
