IRNA – Announcing the end of a clash with a Daesh terrorist team in western Iran, an IRGC commander said five Takfiri terrorists were killed and 16 others arrested.
Commander of IRGC ground forces Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said the clash broke out between the terrorist team and personnel of Najaf Ashraf bas affiliated to the IRGC ground forces Saturday morning and ended after 30 hours.
Of five terrorists killed three died after being surrounded by the Iranian forces and exploding their explosive vests.
The IRGC commander said during the fierce battle, three personnel of Najaf Ashraf base were martyred.
Most of the terrorists arrested are foreign nationals, he said, adding that the personnel of Najaf Ashraf base and other security, disciplinary and local popular organs are closely monitoring any moves by counter-revolutionary and terrorist groups and are ready to give a crushing response to them.
Lauding the bravery of the three men martyred in the operation, the commander of IRGC ground forces extended his condolences to the families of the martyrs.
