21 int'l marine routes on Iranian port re-launched after nuclear deal

IRNA After the Iran nuclear deal was signed, the big liners of the world turned to Shahid Rajaee Port and 21 marine routes were reopened, said deputy chief of Hormuzgan Department of ports and maritime on Wednesday.


'Shahid Rajaee Port is the golden gate of the Iranian economy; about 53% of the import and export, 70% of the transit and loading and 85% of the container goods pass through the port,' Allah-Morad Afifi-pour.

Having 18 container cranes and 40 docks, Shahid Rajaee Port is the biggest container port in Iran.

The Iran nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is an agreement signed between Iran and UN Security Council member and Germany in January 2015.
