Official: Azerbaijan ready to cooperate with Iran on Tabriz 2018
FNA- Azerbaijan's Consul General to Tabriz Aliyannaghi M. Huseynov voiced his country's readiness to cooperate with Iran on holding Tabriz 2018 Event.

"Azerbaijan is ready for all kinds of cooperation, including scientific, technical, economic, cultural or touristic cooperation with Iran, particularly with East Azarbaijan Province of the country," Huseynov said in a meeting with East Azarbaijan's Deputy Governor Rahim Shohratifar on Thursday.

He also suggested that Iran's Tabriz and Azerbaijan's city Nakhchivan as two cities that have been distinguished for 2018 can provide the two countries with the required ground for boosting cultural coordination.

Tabriz and Nakhchivan have been chosen respectively as the tourism and cultural capitals of the Muslim World for 2018 by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Given the designation of Azerbaijan's capital, Baku, as the tourism capital of the Muslim countries in 2019, experiences of this year's event will be beneficial to Azerbaijan. Therefore, more cooperation is necessary for transferring the experience.

Resuming Tehran-Baku flights, easing travel for Azeri nationals to have medical tours to Tabriz were also other topics discussed at the meeting.

Iran's East Azarbaijan Province with the city of Tabriz as its capital shares border with the Republic of Azerbaijan in Jolfa and Khoda Afarin cities.
