Border guard martyred in SE Iran

IRNA – An Iranian border guard was killed Monday in an armed clash with narcotics smugglers in Sistan-Baluchestan Province, southeastern Iran.

“About 2 tons illegal drugs were confiscated by Iranian border guards and two traffickers were also killed,” govenror of Saravan town Darvish Narouie told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Monday.

“The clash lasted for three hours,” the governor said.

Major Rasoul Talebi was shot in his neck and died while being transferred to the hospital, said the official.
