IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Saturday that ‘the entire Muslim world stands in solidarity with Palestinians’.
Writing on his Twitter account while in Istanbul to attend an extraordinary OIC Summit, Zarif said that all world Muslims ‘reject Trump’s gifting of what he does not own to those who have no right to it’.
The foreign minister said he was inspired by the very high level of participation at the Summit, ‘despite handful of telling exceptions’.
Zarif arrived in Istanbul along with President Hassan Rouhani last night to attend the meeting which is to explore ways to confront US new policy to relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Political figures and international organizations, including the United Nations as well as all the European Union member-states have warned the US against its new decision to transfer its embassy to al-Quds.
Having 57 members, OIC is the world’s second largest inter-governmental body after the United Nations. The organization was founded in 1969 with the purpose of safeguarding the Muslims’ interests across the world.
