Spokesman dismisses letter by France on French officials' visits

IRNA Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi dismissed reports that French Foreign Minister had sent a letter regarding visit of French officials to Tehran.

'The MPs' receipt of the French Foreign Minister's letter is completely wrong,' said Qasemi when asked by IRNA on reports that the Majlis deputy had sent a letter to Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and setting preconditions for the visit of French officials to Tehran.

'Principally neither foreign ministry nor the Islamic Republic of Iran's representative officials have information of such a letter with the same content.'

'We ask all the political officials and personalities to observe political and professional morals to avoid publishing unconfirmed reports due to their unfavorable impact on the public opinion and creating wrong images because such measures are in sharp contrast with the national interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The stances and principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran foreign policy are totally clear and transparent and principally we are no longer living in the age and time of setting condition(s).'

A parliament representative had in an interview with a news site claimed that foreign minister sent a message to Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to set pre-conditions for his future visit to Iran, including negotiations with the Iranian officials on the future of the region and Iran missile program.
