IRNA � Iranian and Armenian officials held talks in the Russian city of St. Petersburg on development of judicial cooperation.


The talks held on Tuesday were attended by Iran's Prosecutor General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri and his Armenian counterpart Arthur Davtian.

In the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 15th session of prosecutors general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, Montazeri called for exchange of prisoners between the two countries.

For his part, Davtian said his country welcomes judicial ties with Iran.

During his stay in St. Petersburg, Iran's Montazeri met his Russian counterpart Yury Chaika, and the two officials signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on judicial cooperation.

The 15th session of prosecutors general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states kicked off on November 28 and continues for three days.
