US sacrificing Muslims for Israel: political analyst

IRNA The US has been sacrificing the interests of the Muslim world for the sake of the Zionist regime, said an Iranian political analyst at a forum about the Islamic world relations with Trumps US in Morocco.

According to a Sunday night report, the conference was attended by 2,000 people and 120 speeches were delivered by world figures.

Hossein Mousavian, a former Iranian diplomat; Amr Mousa, Egyptian former secretary-general of the Arab League; Samira Rajab, royal family representative of Bahrain; Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Mohamedou, former Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mauritania; Mouafac Harb, Saudi analyst and former head of office of al-Hayat newspaper in Washington; Mustafa Kamal, former ambassador of Pakistan to the UN; were among the speakers.

Researcher at Princeton University and former member of Irans team in nuclear negotiations Mousavian explained the eight factors in the US relations with the Muslim world:
1. In words, the US has been fixating on democracy and human rights; but, in practice, it has been supporting dictators and corrupt regimes.
2. The US has had the management of the Middle East peace process out of which came nothing; the US has day by day reinforced the Zionists stance and weakened the Palestinians. The US marginalized the Palestinians; the Arab world has surrendered and left the arena for their rampaging.
3. The US bellicose strategy in the Middle East, firing up several wars against Muslim countries, such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Yemen, and Saddam Husseins invasion of Iran caused disintegration of stability, growth of terrorism, extremism, and empowering of stuck-in-the-mud governments in the Middle East and Muslim World.
4. Regarding foreign affairs, [US President Donald] Trump has proposed America first; but the US policy in the Middle East has always been Israel first. This is the reality of the US relations with the Muslim world in the recent decades; the US has always sacrificed Muslims interests for the sake of the Zionist regimes.
5. Iran and Saudi Arabia play important roles in the developments of the Muslim world; however, during Trumps presidency [in the US], Israel is sitting between Iran and Saudi Arabia and fans the flame of the disputes of Saudi Arabia and its allies with Iran.
6. There has been a front against the American and Israeli hegemony in the Muslim world that the US has all-out fought it back. The Resistance Move consisted of the Shias, Sunnis, Hezbollah, Hamas, and countries, such as Iran, and recently, Turkey. The US will continue to fight with the Move.
7. The US has had a key role in creation of terrorist groups in the Muslim world. Trump accused Barack Obama to have created al-Qaeda; Hillary Clinton confessed to the fact that the US has helped the making of al-Qaeda and Taleban.
8. The US policies were based on dominance over oil-rich Muslim countries, but it has recently become self-reliant on oil, but Trump has prioritized astronomical growth of weapon export to some Muslim countries, an example of which is the 350-billion dollar contract with Saudi Arabia.

Hence, the future of relations of the Muslim world with the US depends on whether the US will continue pursuing the eight policies, or it will reconsider its approach.

The Bahraini representative claimed in the forum that the presence of Iran in Iraq is destructive and destabilizing and expands terrorism, and that the Arab countries are following peace process in the framework of international laws.

Mousavian said that the Bahraini representative mentioned the international laws; according to the international laws, Iraq is an independent country and has an independent government. The Iraqi government demanded Iran to fight terrorism as it demanded the US. The Iraqi Prime Minister [Haider al-Abadi] said that without Iran, Daesh would have conquered Baghdad. [Masoud] Barzani, then President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, said the same thing about Erbil. So, others should respect Iraqs will and also appreciate Irans role in fighting Daesh terrorist group.

The Bahraini representative referred to peace process and that the Arab countries follow the cause in the framework of international laws, but they do not pay attention to the fact that the other party, i.e. the Zionist regime cant care less about the UN Resolutions, and thus in the past 50 years the Arabs have gained nothing regarding Palestine, added Mousavian.

Answering Saudi Arabias representatives rhetorical question about Irans role in the peace process, Mousavian said Iran has not been and is not a part of the peace process. Iran closed the Israeli embassy in Tehran and handed it over to the Palestinians, and has not denied any help to the Palestinians. The US, world powers, and Arabs have had the peace process for decades and have gained nothing. With the peace process going on like this, nothing will ever be gained.

Former Secretary-General of the Arab League Amr Mousa affirmed Mousavians remarks on the issue and said that the US role in the Islamic world has been opaque and provocative.

He said that Mousavian was right about Irans help to Iraq, and the fact is that the Arab countries could never have such a role. He added the disputes between the Shia and Sunni Muslims are destructive and Iran should join the Arabs in the peace process.

Agreeing with Musas remarks about Shia-Sunni dispute, Mousavian said as long as the dispute goes on, Muslims will be the losers. He suggested that the four Muslim powers, Iran, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, cooperate; they have the necessary capability to solve the regional crises.

The Iranian former diplomat said that there are some facts to be considered about the peace process and the Arabs' initiative; one, Iran doesnt recognize Israel as a country and believes the land belongs to Palestinians and the Muslim world; two, Arabs, the US, Europe, and other world powers, who have failed in spite of UN resolutions, shouldnt pass the buck to Iran. Whats more Irans Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has openly said that Iran respects whatever solution that Palestinians accept.
