World Armenians leader extends condolences to Iran quake victims

IRNA World Armenians Leader Catholicos Karekin II in a message extended condolences on the devastating earthquake in west of Iran, which left many dead and injured.


According to the report of Iran's embassy in Yerevan on Thursday evening, Karekin II in his message to President Hassan Rouhani expressed deep sorrow and sympathy with Iranian people.

He wished blessing for demised people and patience for the bereaved families and quick recovery for the injured.

The embassy press bureau also reported that President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has offered condolences to his Iranian counterpart President Hassan Rouhani.

In the message, President Sargsyan expressed sympathy with the bereaved families of the victims.

Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan also sent a message to his Iranian counterpart Eshaq Jahangiri.

He expressed his country's readiness to participate in relief and rescue operations in quake-stricken area.

Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandyan in his twitter wrote about his sorrow and sadness for fatal incident of quake in western provinces of Iran.

A strong earthquake with magnitude of 7.3 on Richter scale jolted western provinces of Iran on Sunday November 12, 2017 at 21:48 hours local time, (18:18 GMT).

The latest toll of the quake is 436 dead and 9,388 injured.
