Zarif, Lavrov discuss results of Putin Tehran visit on phone

IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif of Iran and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in a telephone conversation on Tuesday evening discussed at length mutual cooperation as well as outcome of President Vladimir Putins recent visit to Tehran.


Both ministers also exchanged views on the situation in Syria and settlement of the lingering crisis gripping the country.

Cooperation in the Caspian Sea was another topic dwelt with by the two ministers during their phone conversation. They also focused on the time table for the visits of the two countries officials at various levels.

President Putin arrived in Tehran last Wednesday (Nov 1) to attend the trilateral summit of Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan Republic.

While in Tehran, he sat down for talks with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani.

Putin underlined backing the 2015 nuclear deal officially known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) during his separate meetings with senior Iranian official.
