Iran working on humanitarian aid roadmap to Rohingya Muslims

MNA Irans Foreign Ministry has held a meeting to finalize a roadmap for humanitarian assistance to Myanmars Rohingya Muslims.


TheTuesday meetingon Myanmarwaschaired by Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs,EbrahimRahimpour, who is alsoIrans accredited ambassadorto the southeastern Asian country.

Along with agroup of other foreign ministry officials, the latest developments in Myanmarwerediscussedand the participants exchanged views on how to create aroadmapfordeliveringthe short and long-termhumanitarian assistanceof the Islamic RepublictoRohingya Muslims there.

During the meeting, the foreign ministry officials decidedto sendthethird consignment of assistance to Muslims in Myanmar through the Bangladesh borderby takingurgent andshort-term measures.

It was also agreed to hold negotiations with theofficials of the abovementioned countries and the Iranian Red Crescent Societyauthoritiestosendthe firstdirectaidconsignmentto Myanmar.

Besides, the ministry officials called forfurthercoordination to hold a summittopromotepeace and friendship amongthefollowersof religious sects there.
