UN General Assembly president, Zarif talk on Middle East

IRNA – President of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly Miroslav Lajcak has recently tweeted that he and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting on the sidelines on the event, reviewed developments mainly in the Middle East region.

‘Multilateralism addressed at meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister. Also discussed was the dynamics in the Middle East region.’ Lajcak said in his Twitter message.

Both sides also discussed effective paradigms regarding the Middle East developments, the UNGA president added.

Zarif on Thursday morning attended a conversation organized by the American think tank the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in the New York City and outlined Iran’s foreign policy.

He had also several interviews with the international and local media in the last day of his two-week stay in New York.

The Iranian foreign minister had interviews with Doha-based Al Jazeera Media Network, the Global Politico and the Newsweek Magazine based in the US as well as the London-based dailies, the Guardian and Financial Times.
