Banning sale of passenger planes to Iran against nuclear deal: Official

IRNA - Member of Iran's Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati said on Thursday that imposing a ban on selling passenger planes to Iran constitutes a blatant violation of the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and the major world powers.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a conference attended by Iranian academics, Velayati said the move indicates that we should not trust the US and its allies.

'The Islamic Republic of Iran does not need the United States to promote its goals,' he said.

After about four decades since victory of the Islamic Revolution, the West continues to behave inappropriately, he said.

That is why such an approach by the West towards Iran is not going to surprise us, Velayati added.

The new US administration or the lawmakers in the country take new moves against Iran on a daily basis and this shows that we should not trust Americans, he said.

Iran can address its domestic and foreign issues without necessarily relying on the US, member of Iran's Expediency Council said.

We have no concern over the so-called imposition of further pressures by Washington on Iran, he said.

Such mindset is going to take them nowhere, Velayati stressed, referring to the Americans.

Commenting on the ongoing plight of the Muslims in Myanmar, Velatyai said the government in the Southeast Asian nation, is west's puppet.

The Iranian senior official vowed that all Islamic countries, aided by the international community, would try to stop the massacre of the Muslims in Myanmar.

Referring to Aung San Suu Kyi, the Noble Peace Prize Laureate and the current de facto leader of Myanmar, Velayati said that, the one who unfairly was granted the Nobel Peace Prize is now committing such atrocities against the Muslims.

But the Islamic nations are not going to be indifferent towards what is taking place in Myanmar and they are going to stop the dictatorial government through international leverages, he said.
