Tasnim – The Iranian Defense Ministry’s Marine Industries Organization unveiled a state-of-the-art domestically made two-speed gearbox used in vessels.
The gearbox was unveiled during a ceremony on Thursday with Managing Director of Iranian Defense Ministry’s Marine Industries Organization Rear Admiral Amir Rastegari in attendance.
Speaking at the ceremony, Admiral Rastegari said propulsion systems are a major part of vessels and manufacturing them can help develop marine industries.
He further emphasized that the design and manufacture of the gearbox have been carried out in the Marine Industries Organization, adding that all of its components were made in the country.
Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment.
