Daesh members surrender, lay down arms in Syria

Tasnim Militants from the Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) terrorist group have started to lay down their arms and surrender to Syrian and Hezbollah forces Saturday after a major offensive in Syrian Qalamoun near the Lebanese border, a report said.

A source told The Daily Star that at least eight gunmen have surrendered and turned themselves over to Hezbollah along with their families at the Zamarani Crossing, including the terrorist organization's local religious judge.

In a video shared by WMC, one of Daeshs militants said its over after being asked why he had decided to surrender.

Syrian and Hezbollah forces launched an offensive against Daesh in Syrian areas of Qalamoun near the Lebanese border early Saturday in a bid to dislodge the terror group.

The report also added that the strategic Zamarani Crossing was now under complete control. It later said its forces made further advances, putting another crossing point, known as Mira Crossing, under complete fire control.

The new offensive comes weeks after Hezbollah forces rooted out militants from Jabhat Fatah al-Sham - previously known as al-Nusra Front - near Lebanon's Arsal and Syria's Flita.
