IRGC commander vows crushing response to any military move by enemies

Tasnim Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami warned that a crushing response would await Irans enemies in case they dare to make any wrong move against the country.

If the enemies want to take military actions, the Islamic Republic's Armed Forces will respond to them based on their inherent responsibilities, Brigadier General Salami told reporters in Tehran on Monday.

The reactions (by Iran) would be very harsh and involve any kind of operations, the IRGC commander noted.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony in commemoration of Martyr Mohsen Hojaji, an IRGC military adviser who was recently decapitated in Syria by the Daesh (ISIS or ISIL) terrorist group.

The commander further pointed to the origins of Takfiri terrorism in the Middle East and said the sinister phenomenon has its roots in the policies of the US, Britain and their Arab allies.

In recent years, the region has been plagued with Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.

The terrorist groups, which claim to be Islamic but whose actions are anything but, have been committing heinous crimes not only against non-Muslims but mostly against Muslims in the region.

Iraq and Syria have been gripped by insurgency with various terrorist groups, including Daesh, currently controlling parts of their territories.

In the meantime, Iran has remained a close ally of the countries and supports their legitimate governments in the face of foreign-backed militancy.
