Fear of Hezbollah kept Israelis from Arsal battle intervention

Alwaght - The Israeli regime set up plans to support the Jabhat Tahrir al-Sham's terrorists who fought Lebanons Hezbollah last month in the Lebanese Arsal heights following an agreement between Tel Aviv and the terrorist group, the Times of Israel website quoted an Israeli expert as saying.

The website further said that Tel Aviv's help to the terrorists was meant to come to surprise the Hezbollah forces and was motivated by the regime's desire to take revenge on the Lebanese group for the defeat of the 2006 34-Day War. However, the Israeli leaders backed down on the operation in Lebanon following Hezbollah's strong warning message, passed to Tel Aviv by German ambassador to Lebanon after a meeting with an official of Hezbollah, the Israeli website added.

During the meeting, the Hezbollah official stressed to the German diplomat that Hezbollah had intentions to fully obliterate the terrorists in Arsal and Syrias Qalamoun mountains and that any Israeli interference will be understood as a helping hand to the terrorists who are fiercely fighting in the two areas to get foothold there.

This will mean Israeli declaration of war against Hezbollah, the official told the ambassador.

The official of Hezbollah, who was described to be a member of the Lebanese groups leadership, told Germanys HE Martin Huth that once Tel Aviv decides to intervene in favor of terrorists, Hezbollah will open all of war fronts to fight the occupying regime and will make Israeli leaders pay dearly for sabotaging of anti-terror campaign.

The Hezbollah official noted that they were taking action to cleanse the area of terrorists and that they will never hesitate in their campaign as nobody can stop their anti-terror advancing.

We are fighting terrorism and if Israel takes any aggressive action, it should expect surprising responses from Hezbollah, Hezbollahs representative added.

He further said: The Israelis saw well the results of the 2006 summer war. In summer 2017, the equations are fundamentally different and every square kilometer of the Israeli territories is within strike range of Hezbollah rockets, the website quoted him as saying.

It was after these warning messages, the expert told the Times of Israel, that the Israeli security cabinet unanimously decided to set aside a program to back Jabhat Tahrir al-Sham in its push against Hezbollah in Arasal, a town and mountainous area in Baalabek District.

This is not the first time that the Israeli regime is taking serious Hezbollah warning and takes steps to avoid confrontation with Lebanons strong group. Last year, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah threatened to hit Israeli Haifa's ammonia stocks if Tel Aviv made anti-Lebanon military steps. Soon after the threat, the ammonia tank, used as storage for manufacturing fertilizers in the densely-populated port city, ceased refueling, and alternative place was picked for the purpose. The steps were taken as Israelis feared that any explosion in the ammonia tank caused by rocket attacks could kill thousands.

This was not the last warning. The secretary general recommend that Israelis dismantle Dimona nuclear plant.

I call upon Israel not only to evacuate the Ammonia tank from Haifa, but also to dismantle Dimona nuclear facility, Sayyed Nasrallah said at a rally, warning that he would target Dimona too. The nuclear weapon that imposes threat to the entire region, will be turned into a threat to Israel, he added.

Talking to the crowds gathered to hold 9th anniversary of Hezbollah leader Imad Mughniyeh, Sayyed Nasrallah further maintained: Enemy strongly believes our power and knows when Hezbollah says something, it knows what it says.

The Israeli authorities in remarks that perfectly exhibited their fear and horror about outbreak of military encounter with Hezbollah warned the Lebanese group against such measures that its consequences will be grave to the Israeli existential security. Avi Yaskharov, an Arab affairs analyst at Israeli Walla news website, reacted to the chaos Nasrallah threats created among the Israeli security circles, saying that we have no choice but specially covering Hassan Nasrallah's remarks. He is a media star.

Oded Ben-Ami, a media commentator at the Israeli Channel 2, repeatedly talked about the influences of Tel Aviv's taking serious Hezbollah threats on the Israeli public opinion. He said: I believe that Nasrallah in the past proved that he does not lie. He always talks about palpable realities. Yes the ammonia tank is close to over 1 million people and it is highly risky to them. The Chief of General Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Gadi Eizenkot like many other Israeli officials did not hide knowledge about Hezbollah capabilities. Hezbollah has significantly developed its missile capabilities. I believe Nasrallah remarks, he said on Tuesday

A top Israeli military general in an interview with the Israeli media admitted that in case of war outbreak between Tel Aviv and Hezbollah, the resistance movement could rain down Tel Aviv and the surrounding cities with nearly 3,000 rockets every day. He did not rule out Syrian support to Hezbollah if a war started, adding that Hezbollah had rockets with pinpoint accuracy and huge destruction power.

Before him, in 2014 the former Chief of General Staff of IDF Benny Gantz in Bar-Ilan University's Strategic View Conference reflected on the scenario in a possible war with Hezbollah.

If a war starts, the enemys smart rockets will target the Kirya (IDF headquarters) in central Tel Aviv. Then the public service websites will sustain cyber-attacks and the banks and other organizations will cease activities.

Major Hezbollah military power increase in recent years that makes a majority of Israel territories go within range of its missiles can define the reasons behind Israeli leaders' submission to Hezbollah warning in relation to Arsal battle. Israelis know the fact that in case of a confrontation with Hezbollah not only northern territories but also the whole occupied territories from Tel Aviv to Dimona will be made target to Hezbollah attacks. In fact, the potential future war with Hezbollah will put Tel Aviv regime's existence at serious risks, or may brought it to full collapse.
