Expansion of Iran-EU ties leads to Europeans' independence towards JCPOA

July 25,The Iran Project An Iranian expert says although Americans are seeking to undermine the regional and international image of Iran, the expansion of Iran-EUs economic cooperation will lead to the independence of EUs policy towards the JCPOA.

Speaking to a reporter on Tuesday, Mehdi Fathi, anIranian expert on European issues referred to the EUs position towards the JCPOA following US violation of the nuclear accord, and said Europeans consider Irans nuclear deal an achievement for the regional and international security and a success for the P5 + 1 and European Unions diplomacy.

Touching upon Iran-European countries ties in post-sanctions era, Fathi noted that economic and trade relations have been significantly increased between the two sides.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is seeking to expand economic cooperation with the European Union, including France and Germany, and isolate the Americans within the JCPOA framework, he stressed.

The Iranian expert on European issues further referred to the US new sanctions against Tehran, saying by imposing unilateral sanctions on the Islamic Republic, Americans are after hurting the countrys economy and undermine its image in the region and world but Iran, by expanding its ties with Russia, China and the European Union countries, especially France and Germany, is seeking to defeat US policies.
Last week, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in an interview withCBS that the new sanctions against Tehran by the US are damaging already frayed Tehran-Washington ties.
