Expert: Trump anti-JCPOA approach provides Arab states with military leverage

Expert in Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences Irina Fedorovna Popova made the remarks in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency on Monday.

She pointed to Trumps claims with regards to reconsidering the JCPOA, saying the US President aims at paving the way for his business.

The US is trying to please Arab countries especially Saudi Arabia by escalating tension regarding Iran nuclear program.

Popova referred to the US-Saudi Arabia 110-billion dollar arm deal as White House plan to sell more weapons to the Middle East.

Russian expert went on to say that Trump is a businessman and he has nothing to do with the political aspects of international and regional issues.

Iran, Russia and European side have been committed to the JCPOA while US has shrugged off some of its commitments.
