Sputnik - Four Arab states boycotting Qatar will pursue their commitment toward changing Doha's policy, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.





CAIRO (Sputnik) On June 5, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt broke offdiplomatic relations and communication withQatar, accusing it ofsupporting terrorism and interfering intheir internal affairs.
"[Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh] Shoukry confirmed determination ofEgypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain tochange Qatar's policy which stands fordestabilization inthe region byfinancing and harboring terrorist organizations," the statement issued followinga telephone talk betweenShoukry and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini read.


On June 23, Kuwait, which is serving asa mediator betweenQatar and the Gulf States, handed the demands ofSaudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain overto Doha. The requests include the severance ofQatars relations withIran, closure ofTurkeys military base onQatar's territory and a shutdown ofthe Al Jazeera TV channel. Qatar missed the deadline forthe response set forMonday and called the conditions impossible.
