IRNA – Iranian Ambassador in London Hamid Baeidinejad wrote on Saturday in Telegram that today’s victories of Iraq and Syria against Daesh are due to General Qasem Soleimani’s “commandership and decisive role”.
Baeidinejad said, “While the war with Daesh is the arena for the biggest and the most experienced commanders from Russia and US, General Soleimani proved with his innovations and novel military methods that he is undoubtedly the biggest military strategist in the world.”
Baeidinejad said General Soleimani’s role in the liberation of Mosul that was “the biggest defeat for Daesh in the past three years and a huge development in the war” is “definitely unrivaled”.
When he entered the war as a response to Iraq’s request for military advisors, Daesh was 60 km away from Baghdad, Baeidinejad said.
He said, “Samarra, and even Kazemein and its periphery were unsafe and in firing range of Daesh.”
“Daesh had completed occupation of many areas and almost all the big cities, or attacking the forces around them,” he said.
Baeidinejad said that after three years of war on terrorism in Iraq and Syria, today the political geography of the region has changed and Daesh is in the defeat path.
For the first time in the past three years, the Iraqi People’s Mobilization Forces (PMF) could reach the Syrian border that makes east Syria one of the most important battle fields that can determine the fate of the war in Syria.
He added, “General Soleimani changed the war path with his creativity and innovative strategies in a way that today we witness great victories in Syria and Iraq.”
