Iran oil output near 4 million bpd: Spokesman

IRNA Irans oil production has risen to over 3.9 million barrels per day (bpd), spokesman for the government announced here on Tuesday.

According to statistics, Irans oil output reached near four million bpd, and this has occurred for the first time after the lifting of anti-Iran sanctions in January, 2016, Mohammad-Baqer Nobakht said at a press conference this morning.

The important development happened during the third month of the Iranian calendar year (May 22, June 21), Nobakht told reporters.

On production of gas condensate, the government spokesman said the statistics has registered 692,000 barrels in a day.

The countrys natural gas production, too, has been 852 million cubic meters per day during the mentioned period, Nobakht added.

Despite the sanctions, Iran after the July 2015 nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) could return to the level of production it used to have in the pre-sanctions era, the spokesman noted.
