IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Friday conveyed Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s message to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
Zarif met with Macron in the Élysée Palace in the French capital, Paris on Friday.
During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister and the French president discussed bilateral ties and major regional and international developments.
Zarif kicked off his European tour on Monday.
In an address to the annual meeting of the European Council of Foreign Relations (ECFR) in Berlin on Monday, Zarif referred to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as an example of the win-win solution and underlined having a regional security forum in Persian Gulf to promote dialogue.
After Germany, he visited Italy and explored avenues for broadening of cooperation between Tehran and Rome during his meetings with Italian officials.
Zarif met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and President of the Senate of France Gerard Larcher late on Thursday.
