Sputnik News- The US ambassador to the UN hopes that Russia and Iran will take a second look at the alleged use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government.

The United States is hopeful that Russia and Iran will take a second look atthe alleged use ofchemical weapons bythe Syrian government afterthe warning issued byUS President Donald Trump, US Ambassador tothe United Nations Nikki Haley said onTuesday.

"My hope is that the Presidents warning will certainly get Russia and Iran totake a second look, and I hope that it will caution Assad fromthe fact that we dont want tosee any innocent men, women and children hurt again," Haley stated Tuesday duringher testimony beforea House Appropriations Subcommittee.

Earlier today, Haley published a tweet saying that any attacks oncivilians inSyria would be blamed onthe legitimate govenment ofthe country, aswell ason Iran and Russia. Both countries are currently engaged inanti-Daesh fight inSyria undertheauthorizeation ofthe government ofPresident Bashar Assad.

Any further attacks done to the people of Syria will be blamed on Assad, but also on Russia & Iran who support him killing his own people.

On Monday, the White House issued a statement saying the Syrian government will "pay a heavy price" if a deadly chemical attack is carried outagainst Syrian civilians.

"The United States has identified potential preparations foranother chemical weapons attack bythe Assad regime that would likely result inthe mass murder ofcivilians, including innocent children. The activities are similar topreparations the regime made beforeits April 4, 2017 chemical weapons attack," the statement said.

Ali Haidar, the Minister ofState forNational Reconciliation Affairs inSyria, slammed the claim, saying that Damascus "has never used and will never use such weapons."
