Tasnim – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan offered his congratulations on the Muslim festival of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In separate messages to his counterparts in Islamic countries on Sunday, Dehqan felicitated them on the religious festival and expressed the hope that security and tranquility would return to the Muslim world with the arrival of the blessed occasion.
Earlier, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri had congratulated his counterparts on the Muslim holiday, calling for concerted action by Muslim nations against terrorism.
Known as the Feast of Breaking the Fast, Eid al-Fitr is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims all around the world.
The observance traditionally begins with the sighting of the new moon of the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. This year, Eid falls on June 26 in Iran.
