Ground Force Commander: Iran monitors all enemy moves

FNA- Iranian Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari underlined that his forces monitor and defuse enemies and terrorists' moves in and outside the country.

"The Ground Forces monitor all enemies' moves and threats day and night and they dont allow anyone to enter the country," General Heidari said on Saturday.

His remarks came after Chief of Staff of Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri described national security as Iran's redline, vowing that Tehran would give a crushing response to any threat or hostile action.

"The mighty and successful Laylatol Qadr operations of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) that comprised of firing precision-striking mid-range missiles against the Takfiri terrorists' command and logistic centers in Deir Ezzur of Syria and punished the culprits behind the Ramadan 12 (June 7) terrorist crimes in Tehran showed that national security is a redline for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Armed Forces and efforts to defend it will not be forgotten even for a single moment," General Baqeri said.

Noting that the missile attacks were carried out concurrent with the US Senate's sanctions against the IRGC and the Iranian nation, he said that the missile strikes made the enemies understand that any threat and aggression against Iran's national security "will face the Armed Forces' reaction".

In relevant remarks one day after the IRGC's missile strikes against the ISIL bases 700km away in Syria, General Baqeri underlined his country's high missile power.

"Iran is among the world's big powers in the missile field," General Baqeri said, addressing a meeting in Tehran on Monday.

He stressed the arrogant powers' weakness in confrontation with Iran, and said, "They dont have the capability to engage in clashes with us for now and of course, we dont intend to involve in clashes with them but we are in permanent rivalry with them in different fields, including the missile sector."

The IRGC last Sunday launched 6 missile strikes at ISIL centers in Syria's Deir Ezzur in retaliation for the June 7 twin terrorist attacks in Tehran, it said in a statement, adding that the mid-range ballistic missiles were fired from bases in Western Iran.
