Zarif: No ceiling on Iran-Tunisia relations

IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran sets no limit on relations with Tunisia and there is great potential for developing ties.

Zarif made the remarks Monday in a meeting with Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi.

‘We believe that both countries have large capacities for strengthening ties and Iran is ready to exchange experiences in different fields,’ said Zarif.

Expressing gratitude for the hospitality of the government and people of Tunisia, Zarif conveyed President Hassan Rouhani’s regards to his Tunisian counterpart.

Meanwhile, Essebsi sympathized with victims of June 7 terrorist attacks in Tehran.

Tunisian president called Iran a civilized country, saying that Tunisia is ready to develop ties with Iran.

Iranian foreign minister’s regional trip to three north African countries started on Sunday with paying a visit to Algeria where he conferred with the country’s prime minister and foreign minister.

After Algeria, Zarif went to Mauritania and then to Tunisia.
