Syrian Minister: Anti-ISIL missile strikes deter US efforts to isolate Iran

FNA- Syrian Information Minister Mohammad Ramez Tourjman lauded the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)'s recent missile attacks on ISIL positions in Deir Ezzur, and said they prevent the US from even thinking of aggression and isolation of Iran.

"Iran, at different levels, confronts any threat which may target the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the country's missile strikes had a message that deterred the US from even thinking of attacking Iran or isolating the country," Tourjaman said on Tuesday.

He added that another message of the missile strikes is that Syria and the resistance front in Iran and Iraq are determined to uproot terrorism in all forms with all means in hand.

The IRGC fired 6 mid-range missiles at the ISIL gathering centers in Deir Ezzur on Sunday evening in retaliation for the June 7 terrorist attacks in Tehran.

The Takfiri terrorists' command center, concentration points and logistical centers used for assembling cars for suicide attacks in Deir Ezzur region in Eastern Syria came under attack by the IRGC moments ago in a move to punish the terrorists for the twin attacks on the Iranian parliament and the holy shrine of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, on June 7 (which killed 18 people and inured 52 others), the IRGC said in a statement on Sunday.

"A number of mid-range ground-to-ground missiles fired from the IRGC Aerospace Force bases in Kermanshah and Kurdistan provinces targeted the Takfiri terrorists in this operation and struck them with lethal and crushing blows. A large number of Takfiri terrorists have been killed and their equipment, systems and weapons have been destroyed in the operation," it added.
