Commander: Iran’s intelligence dominance key to success in ensuring security

Tasnim – The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force highlighted Iranian military and security forces’ role in ensuring the security of southeastern parts of the country, saying their intelligence superiority is the key to their success.

Speaking at a conference attended by some high-ranking local officials and tribal leaders in the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour hailed the security situation in the province as satisfactory, saying the local people have good cooperation with officials in providing the security of the region.

Through their unity ad solidarity, the people of Sistan and Balouchestan are preventing insecurity in the region, the commander said.

He further pointed to military and security forces’ role in the security of border areas in the province and said, “The (forces’) intelligence dominance in the vast areas in the southeast of the country is a key to success in the face of enemies.”

Iran is considered by many experts as the “island of stability” in a region which faces many security challenges.

In August 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the strong security in Iran despite crises and insecurity in the region.

“Thank God, and through the appreciated efforts and endeavors of the military and security forces, the country enjoys a strong security shield while regional countries are filled with incidents and insecurity,” the Leader said.
