IRNA - Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Hossein Zolfaqari said on Friday that during the past 48 hours, massive operations have been carried out and a number of terrorists were identifies with weapons and explosive belts.


Speaking to IRNA, the official said an all-out fight against terrorists is on the agenda of security forces and wide-scale operations are underway to find their hideouts.

Zolfaqari added a large number of terrorists who had entered the country, with the support of their sponsors, have been identified and a large amount of weapons and explosive belts were discovered from them.

Security forces have conducted various operations inside and outside the country and those who backed these terrorists at any forms have been identified, he added.

More reports will be released later by the Intelligence Ministry about the operation, said the official.

Two terrorist groups attacked mausoleum of the late Imam Khomenini, southern Tehran, and the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on June 7, killing 17 people and injuring 52 others.

Two of the attackers blew themselves up outside the late Imam Khomeini�s shrine and inside the Iranian Majlis respectively.

The terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the fatal attacks in Tehran.

However, Iran's Intelligence Ministry declared that more terrorists involved in Tehran recent attacks have been identified and arrested.
