Assembly of Experts urges public turnout in demise anniversary of Imam Khomeini

Tasnim – Iran’s Assembly of Experts called on the people from all walks of life to participate in the forthcoming ceremony marking the demise anniversary of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic.

In a statement on Saturday, the Assembly of Experts paid tribute to Imam Khomeini and highlighted the importance of the people’s presence in the mourning ceremony marking the demise anniversary of Imam Khomeini due to be held at his mausoleum, south of Tehran on Sunday.

“The 28th demise anniversary of the great founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini comes at a time when the personality and wondrous revolution of the Spirit of God (Imam Khomeini) have become more obvious than ever,” the statement said.

The Assembly of Experts calls on “the dignified Iranian nation” to help consolidate the foundations of the Islamic Republic’s holy establishment through taking part in the mourning ceremony.

Iranians are ready to mark the 28th anniversary of the demise of the late founder of the Islamic Republic on Sunday.

Visitors from across the country, as well as high-ranking Iranian officials along with groups of foreign guests and ambassadors will be taking part in the commemoration ceremony.

Every year, large crowds of Iranians travel to Tehran from different parts of the country to pay tribute to Imam Khomeini at his shrine.

Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989, at the age of 87.
