Zarif: People, not coalitions, backbone of Iran's stability

IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a twitter message on Saturday that Iran's stability is secured by its people not coalitions.

We derive stability not from 'coalitions', but from our people, who -unlike many- do vote. Iranians must be respected & are ready to engage,
Zarif tweeted reacting to Iranians massive turnout in the May 19 presidential elections.

According to latest results published by Interior Ministry, Hassan Rouhani leads the presidential election winning over 22.7 million of the cast votes while his main rival Ebrahim Raeisi has received over 15.4 million of the counted ballots.

Mostafa Mirsalim and Mostafa Hashemi Taba have respectively won 455, 211 and 210,597 of the counted votes, Interior Ministry added.

The number of tallied votes stands at 40,076,729 out of which 38,914,470 are valid.

The 12th presidential election, the fifth city and village council election, and the first by-election of Majlis (parliament) in four constituencies were held on May 19.
