Religious authorities urge massive turnout in presidential elections

IRNA Religious authorities Ayatollah Nasser Makarem-Shirazi, Hossein Nouri-Hamedani, Abdollah Javadi-Amoli and Seyyed Mohammad Ali Alavi-Gorgani in separate speeches called on the Iranian nation to take part in the 12th presidential elections.

The religious figures stressed that the people will massively vote for the best candidates on Friday.

Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi called on the nation to take part in the elections, saying that the voters should think about the country's tomorrow and avoid electing out of prejudice and obstinacy.

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamedani also said that at this juncture, taking part in elections is considered Jihad in the path of God and all the Iranians should turn out massively in the polling.

'We should not remain indifferent about the issue which is linked to the human's fate and we should show our interest in the Islamic system during the elections,' he said.

The upcoming election is very important and people should go to the polls in large numbers and they should know that every single vote is an arrow in the body of the enemy, he said.

Meanwhile, Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli and Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani called for a public epic presence in the upcoming voting on Friday.
