Iran, India mull Farzad B gas field development

IRNA -- Iran and India have mulled ways of development of Farzad B gas field and payment of remaining debt of Indian refineries to Iran.

Petroleum Ministry website reported on Tuesday that an Indian delegation, headed by Indian foreign secretary S Jaishankar, met Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh to discuss ways of expanding mutual oil cooperation.

The two sides touched on the offer of the consortium of OVL (ONGC Videsh Ltd.) for development of Farzad B gas field and mulled problems that National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and the Indian company have in terms of finance.

Talking on the sidelines of the meeting, Deputy Minister of Petroleum for International Affairs and Trading Amir-Hossein Zamaninia said senior officials of the two countries and Ministry of Petroleum are firmly determined to bring talks on development of Farzad B gas field to an end.

The Iranian Minister of Petroleum and the Indian delegation also surveyed new ideas and the Indian company's officials and the NIOC managing director Ali Kardor and his Deputy for Development and Engineering Affairs Gholam-Reza Manouchehri are to consider possible solutions to the existing problems.
