France’s new govt. fully respects Iran nuclear deal

MNA – French Ambassador to Tehran Francois Senemaud stressed that the new government of France, as one of the signatories to the Iran’s nuclear deal, will abide by its commitments under the agreement.


The French ambassador made the remark in a meeting with the governor of Fars Mohammad Ali Afshani in Shiraz on Sunday.

During the meeting, he stressed that France is a good economic partner to Iran and will make every effort to further expand relations with the Islamic Republic.

“Big automobile and aircraft deals have been signed between Iran and France and now we need to endevour to get smaller contracts signed by French companies,” Francois Senemaud added.

He highlighted the importance of oil and gas cooperation between the two countries, saying “35 French companies took part in Iran Oil Show 2017, and established good connection with the Iranian firms.”

Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, dubbed Iran Oil Show 2017, was held on 6-9 May with 4,000 exhibitors from across the globe, including 811 pavilions representing nearly 1,500 foreign companies from 37 countries.

The governor of Fars, for his part, said he expects France to further expand its international relations with Iran and province of Fars; “given the prestigious stand of French universities, we are ready to exchange professors and students between our universities,” he added.

“We welcome the presence of French investors, cooperation on technology transfer, as well as scientific interactions in the medial, technical and engineering fields,” he said.

“We welcome any investment in the field of gas,” he stressed.
