Tasnim � Head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran�s Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati rejected claims by certain officials about their role in averting armed conflicts and said only �the people�s resistance� prevented the enemies from making a brazen move against the country.





��Only the resistance of the people and the power of our fighters have caused the Islamic Republic�s sworn enemies to not dare to make any act of aggression against the country,� Velayati told reporters in Tehran on Wednesday.

Because in case the enemies even think of making such a move against Iran, they will be dealt such a strong blow that they would never forget it, the official added.

He further emphasized that the Iranian people have always proved that they will wholeheartedly defend national interests, territorial integrity, and the Islamic Establishment in all areas.

In relevant remarks on Sunday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei hailed people�s companionship with the establishment and popular support as the factors that have rid Iran of �the specter of war�.

�Sometimes we hear some say, or have said before, that �when we came and assumed office, we managed to rid the country of the specter of war�, but these remarks are not correct, and the fact is that throughout the years, the presence of the (Iranian) nation in the scene has eliminated the specter of war and aggression against Iran,� Ayatollah Khamenei said in an address to a gathering of laborers in Tehran, on the occasion of the International Workers� Day.

The Leader underscored that the main reason why the insolent enemies refrain from taking tough action against Iran is �their fear of the (Iranian) nation�s presence in the stage�.
