Pakistan MPs urge concerned authorities to promote security on Iran border

IRNA – Members of Pakistan’s Balochistan parliament strongly believe that Iran and Pakistan need to have more secure borders to promote bilateral trade and concerned authorities of Pakistan need to do more for better security of the borders.

Talking to IRNA separately, they called for more cooperation and coordination among the security forces of the two countries for a peaceful border.

Member of Balochistan parliament Manzoor Ahmed Kakar talking to IRNA said that trade cannot take place without a proper secured border. ‘Promoting bilateral trade between the two neighboring countries is the need of hour.’

The lawmaker added that law enforcement agencies of Pakistan need to cooperate with each other to ensure peace on Pakistani side of the border. “We also need to stop illegal smuggling on the border because it would not benefit either Iran or Pakistan,” the MP viewed.

Kakar went on to say that Iran is taking measures for the benefit of its people living on border areas and Pakistan should also take measures for the benefit of the people living on its border regions.

He added that the parliament of Pakistan should formulate more laws to ensure security of border regions.
Former chief minister of Balochistan province and member of the parliament Abdul Malik Baloch talking to IRNA said that Iran and Pakistan need to enhance their cooperation to have better security on borders.

He added that peaceful border is in the interest of both Iran and Pakistan. He said that people of Pakistani Balochistan are very close to Iran and want to live with Iran in a peaceful manner.

Eleven Iranian border guards were martyred by terrorists near Pakistan border, in southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan on April 26, while patrolling at the zero border point. The terrorists fled to Pakistan’s territories after killing the Iranian border guards in an ambush.

Iran in different massages has asked Pakistan to take urgent serious measure for securing border and bring terrorist elements to justice.
