IRNA -- Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan on Wednesday conferred with his Brazilian counterpart Brazilian defense minister Raul Belens Jungmann Pinto on issues of mutual interests along with regional and global developments.

The meeting between the two ministers occurred on the sidelines of Moscow meeting named �Moscow International Security� on Wednesday.

Iran�s Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaee was also present in the meeting where the two sides examined expansion of mutual, regional and global cooperation.

The meeting held between the two ministers after 40 years, Dehghan said, adding that there exists suitable grounds in various sectors leading to expansion of cooperation between Iran and Brazil.

Appreciating the significant constructive role of Brazil in regional and global equations as well as adopting a positive stance in backing Iran�s peaceful nuclear activities, he called for making use of such ideal opportunity to broaden cooperation in various sectors.

The Brazilian defense minister, for his part, called the meeting very valuable and called for the expansion of all-out relations between the two countries.

He also called for exchange of information and experiences in various fields such as fight against terrorism.

The Iranian minister also conferred with a number of counterparts from other countries on latest developments in the region as well as fight against terrorism.
