Iran South Pars gas recovery to hit 630mcm/d by March 2018: Min. says

Shana-- Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said the average of Iran's natural gas production from the supergiant South Pars Gas Field will reach 630 million cubic meters per day by the end of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21.

Iran is currently producing 575mcm/d of gas from the field which it shares with Qatar in Persian Gulf waters.

The official said raising production from the field and the oilfields in west Karoon region, also shared fields, is high on Iranian Ministry of Petroleum's agenda, reported IRIB.

He also predicted that more jobs will be created in the oil and gas sector in the current year from the preceding year.

On Sunday, the official said over 100,000 jobs are expected to be created once the oil and gas projects pitched for development under the newly-devised oil contracts start.
